The SANREMO Marathon will be held on December 1, 2024.

Description

The entry fee for the competitive race includes the following services:

  • technical and medical assistance
  • liability insurance
  • official participation medal for classified athletes
  • Technical leader guaranteed for online registrants with payment made by Nov. 20
    (intended as the last date of receipt of payment by the organization)
  • race pectoral
  • timing service
  • refreshments along the route
  • final refreshment on arrival
  • bag storage

In the case of payment by bank transfer, the date of crediting of the funds to our current account will be used, not the date of the transfer.

Participation requirements

Athletes registered in Italy

  • According to the “Rules for the organization of events” issued by FIDAL, athletes registered in Italy can participate only if they are 20 years old or older and meet one of the following requirements:
    • Athletes registered for FIDAL affiliated clubs by 2024;
    • athletes in possession of Runcard (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete), limited to people aged 20 years and over. However, participation is conditional:
      • o the presentation of a valid medical certificate of fitness for specific athletics, which must be presented to the organizers in the original and kept, in copy, in the records of the organizing company of each event. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in their own country, but the same examinations required by Italian law must have been carried out:
        • medical examination;
        • complete urinalysis;
        • electrocardiogram at rest and after exercise;
        • spirography.
    • athletes who are members of an Ente di Promozione Sportiva (Athletics Section), in possession of Runcard-EPS; participation is however subject to the possession of the RUNCARD:
      • o the presentation of a valid medical certificate of fitness for specific athletics, which must be presented to the organizers in the original and kept, in copy, in the records of the organizing company of each event. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in their own country, but the same examinations required by Italian law must have been carried out:
        • medical examination;
        • complete urinalysis;
        • electrocardiogram at rest and after exercise;
        • spirography;

Athletes not registered in Italy

  • Italian/foreign athletes not registered in Italy may participate, limited to persons aged 18 years and over who meet one of the following requirements:
    • athletes with membership of clubs affiliated to Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by Iaaf. At the time of registration they must alternatively submit:
      • self-certification of possession of the Iaaf recognized card. The self-certification must then be signed in original at the time of bib collection;
    • athletes in possession of Runcard (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete), limited to people aged 20 years and over. However, participation is conditional:
      • o the presentation of a valid medical certificate of fitness for specific athletics, which must be presented to the organizers in the original and kept, in copy, in the records of the organizing company of each event. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in their own country, but the same examinations required by Italian law must have been carried out:
        • medical examination;
        • complete urinalysis;
        • electrocardiogram at rest and after exercise;
        • spirography;

Participation with tourist-sport purposes for foreigners living abroad.

Based on the provisions of Art. 26 Paragraph 4, 4.1 and 4.2 of the Rules for the Organization of Events issued by FIDAL for the year 2024, non-member foreign nationals residing abroad may participate with tourist-sport purposes limited to persons aged 20 years (thousandth of age: 2003) and older.

These athletes will be participating in a non-competitive event that does not fall under the auspices of FIDAL, although it is taking place at the same time as the competitive event.

These athletes will be identified with a different bib number and placed in an alphabetical order of finish separate from the rankings of the competitive event and will not be eligible for in-kind prizes, cash, value vouchers, bonuses, engagements, expense reimbursements of any kind.

To participate, these athletes will have to submit appropriate form signed and stamped by a physician, certifying their fitness to participate in a non-competitive marathon based on the health regulations in force in their country of citizenship

Important warnings (valid for all participation categories):

  • Athletes who are members of other Federations (e.g., Italian Triathlon Federation) or CONI-recognized Sports Promotion Bodies may participate in compliance with the rules provided for the RUNCARD-EPS / RUNCARD + Competitive Medical Certificate categories with Athletics wording
  • Registered athletes in possession of RUNCARD Mountain & Trail are not eligible to participate
  • Italian citizens registered with A.I.R.E. are to be considered residents abroad
  • Medical certificates should be marked “competitive sports fitness for the practice of LIGHT ATHLETICS”
  • Medical certificates issued for other sports or with wording such as “running,” “running,” “marathon,” or “half marathon” are not valid for participation purposes
