Run For The Whales

A charity marathon in favor of the Institute Tethys ONLUS to raise awareness of the whales and dolphins that inhabit the waters of western Liguria and to raise funds for their protection and scientific research. Divided into a competitive half marathon for runners, a 10 km non-competitive and a walk of 3 km for everyone, the Run for the Whales will take place on the bike path of the Riviera dei Fiori, which runs along the sea.

HALF MARATHON 21K ROUTE CHANGE

The Liguria Region has announced that, on June 3rd, works will begin on demolishing and rebuilding the bridge over the Argentina stream along the cycle path. This will interrupt the cycle path between the towns of Taggia and Riva Ligure.
The Sanremo Marathon Organizing Committee is currently working on designing an alternative route and has already submitted the new official certification request to the Italian Athletics Federation.

The new half marathon route will include:

Start at the Sanremo Athletics Track – Strada Grande Torino (instead of San Lorenzo al Mare)

Route along the cycle path to Arma di Taggia

Turnaround point

Return along the cycle path to the Ospedaletti tunnel

Turnaround point

Finish at the Sanremo Athletics Track
